ShortsNonStop Names Winners & Adds New Categories

November 7th, 2012

Celebrating its sixth anniversary, the Shortnonstop Mobile Movie Festival is adding a new Web Series category, along with new prizes and awards presented to shortform digital content creators.

The Festival is presented by iThentic, and the year-round international competition showcases short films produced for mobile and online platforms.

The most recent winners have now been announced, chosen from 12 finalists, and the prizewinner for this round is Tom Ransom of the UK for the film The Art of Stand-up, a humourous tale of backstage back-stabbing at a comedy club.

The festival awards a cash prize of $1,500, presented by iThentic, each quarter to the best short film selected by an international jury of experts. The next prize period deadline is February 15th, 2013.

Ransom will be awarded $1,500 and his film will be made available online at iThentic and via iThentic’s YouTube channel as well as other distribution platforms.

In addition, the final winner of the iThentic Audience Award is April Heather of the US for her film I’ll Be Fine, who will receive an iPad.

In 2013, Shortnonstop will be expanding eligibility categories to include Web Series Episodes. The widely accepted definition of a Web Series is two (2) or more related episodes of video content that originate on the web. Content creators will be permitted to submit one (1) episode of an existing web series per SNS prize period. These episodes will be eligible for the $1500.00 Cash Prize along with other SNS entries. A sub – category of Web Series Pilot will also be available for those web series that are seeking development assistance.

In addition, in place of the discontinued Audience Award iPad prize, iThentic will now offer one content-creator per prize period assistance in development in the form of script consultation, advice on creating a proper pitch package and an introduction to key members of the web industry.

The Shortnonstop Mobile Movie Festival is a year-round film festival that viewers can experience anytime or anyplace. Shortnonstop accepts entries on an ongoing basis. All submissions can be viewed online  SHORTSNONSTOP.com as well as a select few that will be streamed on iThentic.com and distributed through its network of partners.
