{"id":193,"date":"2011-12-16T01:30:32","date_gmt":"2011-12-16T01:30:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shortsnonstop.com\/p\/?p=193"},"modified":"2011-12-21T01:32:51","modified_gmt":"2011-12-21T01:32:51","slug":"shortsnonstop-mobile-movie-festival-announces-winner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shortsnonstop.com\/p\/shortsnonstop-mobile-movie-festival-announces-winner\/","title":{"rendered":"SHORTSNONSTOP MOBILE MOVIE FESTIVAL  ANNOUNCES WINNER"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><strong style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>Third iThentic Audience Choice Award Winner<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">Toronto, December 16, 2011 \u2014 CFC (Canadian Film Centre) and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shortsnonstop.com\/\">SHORTSNONSTOP<\/a> Mobile Movie Festival, presented by TELUS, announced today the 19<sup>th<\/sup> SHORTSNONSTOP prizewinner along with the winners of the fifth Audience Choice Award, sponsored by iThentic.\u00a0 Currently celebrating its fifth anniversary, SHORTSNONSTOP is the year-round international short film competition showcasing short films produced for mobile and online platforms.\u00a0 The festival awards a cash prize of $1500, thanks to TELUS, each quarter to the best short film selected by an international jury of experts.<\/p>\n<p>This year marks the end of Telus\u2019 four-year sponsorship of SHORTSNONSTOP during which time over 20 filmmakers from 7 countries have received awards.\u00a0 \u201cThanks to Telus\u2019 support, many hundreds of short films have been showcased providing a critical online outlet for emerging filmmakers,\u201c said Eileen Arandiga, Director of the CFC Worldwide Short Film Festival.<\/p>\n<p>Chosen from 10 finalists, the $1500 prizewinner for this round is <strong>Linzi Knight<\/strong> of Canada for the film <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.shortsnonstop.com\/\">The Gay Who Wasn\u2019t Gay Enough<\/a>, <\/strong>a humorous look at the process of coming out and prevailing stereotypes in every day activities.<\/p>\n<p>Linzi will be awarded $1500 and her film will be made available to TELUS\u2019 wireless, ADSL and TELUS TV Video-On-Demand clients and at the CFC Worldwide Short Film Festival awards pre-show in June 2012.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the fifth winners of the new iThentic Audience Award are Sandra Loke of Canada for her film <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.shortsnonstop.com\/videos\/watch\/gotcha\">Gotcha<\/a><\/strong> and Rebecca Norris and Kevin Resnick of the USA with for their film <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.shortsnonstop.com\/videos\/watch\/toasted\">Toasted<\/a><\/strong>. Due to a voting deadline extension, two winners were determined and will receive an iPad and an Apple gift Card respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Presented as an initiative of iThentic, the contest will begin again with the upcoming prize period ending April 15<sup>th<\/sup>, 2012.<\/p>\n<p>The SHORTSNONSTOP Mobile Movie Festival is a year-round film festival that viewers can experience anytime or anyplace.
